About Rage Against The Machine
Rage Against The Machine, aka RATM, is an American alternative rock band from Los Angeles California formed in 1991. The band came on the scene in the midst of the Seattle Grunge movement that consisted of bands such as; Nirvana, Sound Garden and Alice In Chains. The band released their self titled debut album in 1992 and landed a spot on the 1993 Lollapalooza Tour. In 2003 the album landed on Rolling Stones list of 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time. The band is well known for their Leftist political ideals and activism, which has a strong presence in their music. Rage Against The Machine as of 2010 have sold over 16 million albums world wide and has received several awards including; Grammy awards in 1996 for best metal performance and in 2000 for best hard rock performance and in 2017 the band was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Rage Against The Machine disbanded in 2001 and then reunited in 2019 and was going to embark on a world tour in 2020 that was postponed due to the Covid19 Pandemic and has been rescheduled for 2022.
Guitarist Tom Morello
Tom Morello is an American musician and political activist from Harlem New York. Tom is best known for his work with Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave. Tom’s unique guitar style uses a variety of effects and unorthodox techniques that give him his signature sound. Tom has been in many different musical projects since Rage Against The Machine including as the touring guitarist for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Morello was ranked number 40 in Rolling Stones List of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.
