John Geils was born on February 20, 1946 and is more popularly known as J. He is a very well known blues guitarist in the United States and has toured all over the world. He is also well-known for some of his recordings done with serious jazz musicians. Since 1982 John has resided in the small town of Groton Massachusetts where he even received the honor of having a day named after him. On December 1, 2009 the town of Groton declared to be a Jay Geils Day. Some of this blues guitarist’s more famous albums include Jay Plays Jazz which was released on  Fraencesca Records in 2003 and Jay Geils Toe Tappin Jazz released in 2009.
