First 4 Bars From John Coltrane´s Giant Steps - Guitar Lesson on Jazz Chords

How’s it going, guys? This is John McClennan
and I’m here with guitarcontrol.com, excited
to bring you this lesson. We’re looking at the
chord progression to the first four bars of
“Giant Steps”, John Coltrane’s epic tune.

What I’m going to do is just show you some
voicings here. Be sure to click the link
below for the tab, but these are chords that
you can use just to get you through the first
four bars.

The first chord is B major 7, which is going
to start up on 7, 8, 8, 7. And then we’re going
to go to a D9, which is 10, 10, 9, 7.
