I got into a pretty interesting
conversation at a party last
night.
You know, music and artistic expression
can be a funny thing…
While there seems to be some
general agreement over the good,
the bad, and the ugly, there’s
also a few some oddballs who have
a different opinion.
So at the party, the topic of “favorite
movies” came up, and one particular
dude (who looked pretty nerdy)
said his favorite movie was the star wars flick
“Phantom Menace”.
I asked him: “You do realize
thats the one with Jar Jar Binks?”
He replied sternly:
“Yeah. I LIKE Jar Jar. He’s AWESOME.”
I said “hey thats cool but
you do realize most people
think he’s pretty annoying, right?”
He said “Yeah people just DONT GET IT.”
Man, I was LMFAO…
And if you think that’s bad,
just watch guitar players
argue on Youtube about
who’s favorite guitar player
is better than the other guy…
Its one of those paradoxical aspects
of life: While true genius can be
recognized, beauty is still the
eye of the beholder to some degree.
Anyway, enough about that sillyness.
