yeah, my mainstay is a 30W amp where essentially i dime the master and then use the gain (preamp volume) as my volume control. 2 channels, one just at the point of breakup, the other into some nice crunchy/mid gain. Goose it with bit of compression if I have too squeeze a little more out of either of the channels, and voila! I also like relatively simple amps so its easy to dial in a nice tone. favs to date are orange ad30 and I also have a vox (no master on that one though).
]]>not that I’m an expert because tone is a life long journey..but in 50 yrs of playing I’m stil not a fan of a digital signal being processed thru an analogue amplifier..but I’m always looking for great tone so if you know a way of cutting out the harshness that digital naturally brings ( eq’s only muddle the sound not eliminate it)..I’d apreciate knowing the trick..I own 3 line 6 pods and I’m really impressed with the parameters of the Boss GT-10..but again that nasty crispness that digital brings to the sound..Help me out here my friend
