Hey, how’s it going this is Jon McLennan with Guitar Control, bringing you this video lesson on how to play “For You Blue” by George Harrison, this tune is a great example of how blues influenced, rock and roll. It’s really prevalent all over, even in to pop music nowadays, especially in classic rock. You hear a lot of guitar players being influenced by the delta blues players and early blues musicians.

This is a three chords that your going to learn, to play the rhythm part of this song, you’re D7 which is going to be on the 5th fret, 4th fret, 5th fret, 3rd fret, and like C chord with added pinky. Then I’m going to go to a G7 which is the 3rd fret, 5th fret, 3rd fret, 4th fret, 3rd fret, then back to D7, then A7 which is 5th fret, 7th, 5th, 6th, 5th, G, D, and then A, as a turn around chord.
This isn’t a tune that you necessarily hear, that’s kind of a real straight ahead blues turn around, but the form and the chords do follow the 12 bar blues, there’s even a part in there where George Harrison goes to the 12 bar blues.
