Hey, how’s it going this is Jon McLennan with Guitar Control, we’re doing a lesson today in the style of Eric Clapton and this is from “Steppin Out” John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, when Eric Clapton was playing with John Mayall and this is a great album you should check it out if you don’t have it.
We’re looking at a blues lick in the key of G you know G minor pentatonic and one of the things that’s so hard about this is kind of getting the bending. Let’s see if we can we can give it a shot here we’re going to start by sliding from the 3rd fret to the 5th fret on the 4th string then you move your first finger up to the 3rd string 3rd fret and every time you play this note you got to bend it like a micro-tonal blues sound where you’re playing the notes in between the notes been five we come down and then it’s just down here on the 4th string five three and then you do this like so what on the 5th fret of the 5th string into the 3rd fret on the 4th string back to the note before, back up to three and then end with five on the 4th string that’s little heck there and all that bending just gives it such a cool sound and then he does the same thing down one string back up then he goes into a solo from there but check out the intro to stepping out and make sure to subscribe on our You Tube Channel and we’ll see you in our next video lessons, thanks for watching.
