It does sound great though, thanks.

If you want to hear this lick in the framework of an excellent tune, check out Dire Straits “Setting Me Up”, the chorus is pretty much built around this riff and is a top place to start if you want to journey down this style and exceptionally good for those looking for a country fingerstyle workout… Again, thanks Claude, you’re a top bloke 🙂

So, country and blues are related at “poor” and “country”.

Hi Margaret.
Reading TAB for fingerpicking is quite easy. Keep the thumb of your right had for the lowest (fattest) 3 strings (E,A andD) and then your index finger for the G string, middle finger for B string (thinnest but one) and ring finger for the E (thinnest string).
The TAB diagram shows the six strings fattest on bottom and thinnest on top, with the numbers on each string representing which fret the fingers of your left hand should hold down.
Usually the thumb will play on the beat and the fingers will pick out the melody or provide an accomanyment.
Persevere. It really doesn’t take long to master.
Remember Practice SLOW Learn FAST.
