About Aerosmith
Aerosmith is an American rock band formed in 1970 in Boston Massachusetts by guitarist Joe Perry. Perry and vocalist Steven Tyler are the primary song writers and are often referred to as the “Toxic Twins”. Aerosmith is one of the most successful American rock bands of all time. They have sold over 150 million albums world wide and 70 million in the US alone. Aerosmith has been awarded 25 Gold records, 18 Platinum records and 12 multi-platinum records giving them the highest amount of album certifications in the US. The band has achieved 21 Top 40 hits and have won numerous awards including; 6 American Music Awards, 4 Grammy Awards and 10 MTV Music Video Awards. Aerosmith was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
Aerosmith Legacy
Early in their career the band was plagued with personal problems which led to the departure of Joe Perry and the band went on a several year hiatus. In 1984 they embarked on a reunion tour which re-launched the bands popularity and success make the mid to late 1980s one of the most successful times in the bands career. In 2019 the band started a Las Vegas residency that was to last through 2021 but was cut short due to the Covid19 pandemic. Aerosmith consists of; Steven Tyler – vocals, Joe Perry – Guitar, Brad Whitford – Guitar, Tom Hamilton – Bass and Joey Kramer – Drums.
