Waves – Mr Probz

In this Guitar Control lesson, video instructor Jon McLennan will show you how to play “Waves” by Mr. Probz. Thank you so much for hanging out with me today, we’re going to zoom in and break it down.

Check the image above to follow the chords and tabs.

This Intro guitar part is based off, on four chords f minor, which is eight, ten, ten, nine, down to an e flat major, which is the six eighth inning down to a c minor, which is the same as the first chord, just shifted to the 3rd fret 3, 5, 5, 4, up to a d flat, which is the same as the e flat just shifted to the fourth fret, so it’s four chords basically.

I do not actually play the full chords, instead I strip down by playing three note chords because that is all the riff calls. I will play that first chord with my first finger, third finger, second finger. Remember those three notes, and leave the rest.

I arpeggiate, by starting on the fifth string, second, then move down a whole step to a power chord shape e-flat, b flat six, let it ring one, two, three, four, and five. On the c minor same shape, get up 3 and 5, those three fingers then a power chord d flat, which the notes would be d flat, a flat, d flat. I think it does kind of accent really the third of the minor chords. It shows how you can take some stock bar chords and arpeggios.

Don’t forget to start slow, and make sure each chord is nice and clean. Make sure to subscribe on our YouTube Channel and we’ll see you in our next video lessons, thanks for watching How to Play Waves by Mr Probz.
