When dexterity and confidence are gained enough, to produce the sequence, it’s easy to progress to the single finger slide, the hammers etc. Not having to hold a chord, while continuing with the sequence, makes it so much easier to convince people that very few people would be unable to produce nice sounds, and from there, complexity becomes achievable.
