Gerson has been playing drums for 3 decades and teaching as well. Here’s some of the people and places he’s studied with: The City College of Los Angeles, Joseph Mitchell of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Raul Rico (percussionist for Santana) and Richie “Gajate” Garcia, (who’s played with Diana Ross, John Denver and other superstars.)
Here’s some of the places Gerson has taught at professionally: East Los Angeles College, Belmont High School, Roybal High School, and Lincoln High School.
Gerson played in the Los Angeles Honor Band and also the Rose Parade.
He plays with his own latin jazz band and often flies around the world performing with famous artists. He has played in front of 20,000 screaming fans in huge venues like the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena.
One of his students has toured with Michael Jackson and Madonna. Another has performed with Jessica Simpson and many, many more of students have had massive success.
