3 Helpful Tips For Playing The Guitar Faster

Hi Friend,

A lot of guitarists want to play FAST.

Well I have a 3 tips for you today to
help you improve the speed of anything
you want to play.

#1. Play it super slow.

Whatever you’re working on – play it
super slow and focus on maximum efficiency
of motion.

This is also a great tip for learning performance pieces
like country blues or even classical. A lot of times
when we learn something, it becomes so unconscious that
we don’t even “really know it”.

If we can play it super slow, we’re more
likely not to make a mistake in forgetting it.

But back to speed. Going super slow with super
good form will make it easier when you speed up
because you’ll have the right movements down.

#2. Try to play it even faster than you want to.

If you want to play a lick at 160 bpm, try it at 180 bpm,
even if its sloppy as hell. When you come back down
to 160, it will seem easier. This has both psychological
and physical advanatages.

But don’t spend too much time playing it sloppy – just
use this for short bursts.

#3. Repeat , repeat , repeat

Go slightly slower than you need to, and work on endurance.
Endurance really builds up the muscles and nervous system.
If you can play something perfectly 10 times in a row,
you can probably play it 2 or 3 times in a row at a faster
tempo.

In the end, it all comes down to training your nervous system.
I’m actually working on a new protocol to help build my own
shredding speed.

I gotta go practice now actually!

Another great way to practice is with the Guitar Scale System
physical training module. This is a killer method
to really train your nervous system.

Its included with your guitar god club membership.

Here’s one more tip if you’re training for better chops –
You can alternate between doing something physically
demanding like practicing a lick at high speed
with the Guitar Scale System, and doing something
more mental – like discovering some new tricks
from Lead Guitar Gurus. (Also included in your membership).
