Well its official… I’m gettin old.
Just celebrated my 36th birthday yesterday,
and to be honest with you, it wasn’t that
much of a celebration.
Kind of my own fault as I didn’t plan that much.
And what I did have planned fell through as
I was outside in the freezing cold for 30
minutes, waiting for a train to come that never came.
There’s probably a great blues song in there
On the positive side, Wing (the famous chinese singer)
sang happy birthday to me on the phone. I found out
about Wing from from an episode of South Park, but
turns out she is a real person and you can hire
her to sing to you for a nominal fee.
It was great, LOL…
Overall though, it was kind of a lonely birthday.
But its all good – sometimes rough days build
character, if you can get through them without
doing anything stupid, lol…
It’s the same thing on guitar – getting past
plateaus and sticking points and all…
Sometimes it feels like you’re not making progress
but in reality, things are bubbling up behind the
scenes, and then suddenly you break through to
a new level if you stick with it.
This can happen whether you are trying to learn
your first chord, a song, trying to play lead
with feeling, building your shred chops, whatever…
Sometimes it just takes persistence, and sometimes
it takes guidance from a teacher…or a combination
If you’ve been stuck at certain level and want to
break through, one of the funnest and easiest
ways is hook yourself up with a DVD course.
It’s good inspiration, good information, and
guaranteed to help you over the hump…
Well, this old man’s gotta go… Signing off for now…
