Introduction

Hey this is Matias Rengal with Guitar Control. Today you will be learning I’m no good by Amy Winehouse. This is going to be a really easy way to play it and sing along with it or to just simple follow the song. So let’s get down to it.

You Know I’m No Good

Alright so for this song we’re going to start with D minor. You can replace all of these chords for easier versions instead of this one, of course what I’m going to be showing you both ways. So for this one we’re going to have three sections; we’re gonna have the verse, the pre-chorus and the chorus and they’re going to be different chords and different combinations of chords.

Verse

So for the verse we’re going to start by placing your index finger on the fifth fret and you’re gonna do A minor. You’re gonna place your ring finger on the seventh fret of the fourth string, pinky finger on the seventh fret of the third string and middle finger on the 6th fret of the second string. If you cannot play this one you can go into this B minor seven with no problem.

Now you’re gonna go into the G minor; for this demon are you going to place your index finger all over the third string, ring finger on the fifth fret of the fifth string, pinky finger on the fifth fret of the fourth string, that’s it that’s your G minor. Then from there you’re gonna go into an A major, for a major you can go into this one major seventh or this one, but you can play this one for open strings and then you have the middle finger on the second fret of the fourth string and ring finger on the second fret of the fifth. You can go here which is basically the G minor that we had here, you just bring it up two frets and you bring in this little finger, you put it on the sixth fret of the third string and remove the pinky. This one is much easier, that’s why I tell you to put it this way because it’s gonna be easy to play the muted notes. After that you go back into the D minor and that’s it and this repeats a bunch of times. For the pre-chorus we’re going to play the G minor you already know and then you’re gonna going to an E for a second.

What you can do it’s very easy. You can just grab this chord and just remove the index finger and bring it down, that’s it. So you’re gonna have your ring finger on the second fret of the fifth and middle finger or index finger on the first fret of the third. I would do it like this with these fingers because after that you’re going to an F major and for the F major you want to bring the pinky on the third fret of the fourth and put the index all over the first string and they once again this one, and then our A7 that we already saw. So now we’re gonna go into the chorus.

Chorus

For the chorus you already know the D minor that we’re saying that you could use for this B minor, you don’t know the E minor, but A minor it’s very similar to A major seven that we’re playing, but you can play it here; second fret of the fourth and third string in this one, index finger on the first fret of the second string and you can play it later or you can go here as well, it’s gonna be very easy if you play there because you’re in the D minor chord. What you got to do is just bring pinkie and ring finger and remove the middle that’s it also G minor, all you gotta do is just bring it up two frets and that’s an E minor.
