The biggest challenge is being confident while you’re playing. This goes hand in hand with
overcoming stagefright.
Now, I know there are all kinds of psychological tricks, theories, and weird techniques. But
my personal opinion, and also my experience working with students, is that when it all comes
down to it, what really makes a person confident is having solid skills.
If you know what you’re doing, whether it’s in front of the drum kit, or any other instrument,
things will come naturally. You’ll have fun playing the drums.
That’s why, in Drums Made Simple, not only do you get the basic beats you need to get
started playing the drums as quickly and easily as possible, but you get a whole section
on technique to make you as comfortable as possible.
