Hey, what’s going on this is Jon McLennan with Guitar Control, will show you how to play “Another Brick in the Wall” by Pink Floyd, a Classic tune here.

Check the image above to follow the chords and tabs.

I’m starting out with octaves, again lots of octaves here in the Seventies. I’ve got the fifth fret on the 5th string and then my pinky on the seventh fret third string, and I do this line doubling the vocal then I go to a d minor chord, then goes again a slight permutation of the melody, but same idea octaves.

Then you move to a g toward this b section, and there are a couple ways you could do this 5, 4, 3, 3, and then back to a d minor, then do an f chord. Going back to my thumb f chord, you can play it this way, but the idea is to hit that chord and make it dramatic. I love doing this move where I play the f and then I moved to the cover g, like the brick and the d-minor.

Now, there’s some great licks on the outro, kind of sounding stuff which is basically just d minor pentatonic kind of rock guitar riffs. Really the band at that point is just vamping on d minor, you know and then Gilmour comes, pretty much staying in that pentatonic land, is a great way to practice your soloing over the d minor vamp at the end.
