Deep Purple is an English rock band formed in 1968. The band is considered to be one of the pioneering bands of the Heavy Metal genre along with Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, being referred to as the “Holy Trinity of British Hard Rock and Heavy Metal”. Black Night is a song by Deep Purple. The song was first released as a single in 1970 and later included on the 25th Anniversary version of their 1970 album, Deep Purple in Rock. The song peaked at No. 2 on UK charts, and remains Deep Purple’s highest charting UK single. It topped the charts in Switzerland, South Africa and Ireland.
