Hi everybody this is a Darrin from GuitarControl.com bringing you this video lesson. Today I’m going to teach you part one of a two part lesson I’m going to do on a section of Trilogy Suite Opus One from Yngwie Malmsteen. This entire piece is really long and it has a lot of parts that are fairly difficult to play The two sections I want to show you are relatively easier parts of the of the song and should be easy for you to pick up and play. They sound really good and it’s got that kind of classical feel. If you’re not a finger picker you could play this with a guitar pick very easily. Trilogy Suite
Alright so this first chord that I’m doing here is I’m doing an A minor dyad with my third finger on the seventh fret of the fourth string and my first finger on the fifth fret of the third string and just play all the rest of the strings open with the exception of the sixth string you don’t play that all. So we start off with 5 4 3 2 1 2 3 4, referring to strings, and from there we move down and we play the 5th string open and then we go to the 4th fret of the third string, fourth string with her third finger and the second fret of the third string with your second finger and then the first and second strings open; so far we have…
