Shuggie Otis An American R&B, Soul, Rock, Blues, Funk Singer-Songwriter, Record Producer And Multi-Instrumentalist

Blues guitarist Shuggie Otis was born Johnny Alexander Veliotes on November 30, 1953 in Los Angeles, California. He is an American R&B, soul, rock, blues, and funk singer-songwriter, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist, playing primarily guitar, but also piano, organ, drums, and bass. Otis is the son of Johnny Otis, rhythm and blues musician, band leader, and impresario. He started performing professionally at the age of twelve, and at age fifteen, was asked by Al Kooper to play on his album. In 1970, Otis released his first solo album, Here Comes Shuggie Otis, followed by Freedom Flight in 1971, and Inspiration Information in 1974, where blues guitarist Otis wrote and arranged all the songs and played almost every instrument on the album.
