How to Play Jazz Guitar in the Style of Freddie Green

hey Friend,

Not to be confused with: Freddie King, Freddie Mercury,
Peter Green, Grant Green or Green Day…

Today I want to talk about a dude called Freddie Green.

If you’re a jazz cat, you may already
know who he is.

For the uninitiated, he was a jazz
and big-band guitarist and played
with Count Bassie.

His contribution to guitar?

He really pioneered the use
of the so-called “fat chords”,
which use the low E string,
and the D and G strings.

Here’s a lesson on our blog
about his style (with tabs):

GUITAR LESSON OF THE DAY

If you’ve never tried playing in this style
it can be quite fun and different.

Hope you enjoy it and the rest of your weekend as well…
