Hey, guys. Hows it going? This is Gaby Soule
with guitarcontrol.com and today in this video
I want to show you this lick in the key of C
major. It involves some outside notes and its
some kind of fusion sounding lick. So lets
break it down and see how it works.
The first thing I do is this A minor arpeggio in the
7th fret of the G string. I start it there. I start
with a hammer-on from the 8th fret to the 9th fret
of the 3rd string. Then in the 8th fret of the 2nd
string. Now in the 1st string, Im playing the 7th
fret. Now, the next notes I will play them all on
the 1st string. Its 10, 8 and 7. The last notes,
I play them with a pull-off from the 8th to 7th fret.
Pull-off there.
Now on the first string, I play from the 11th fret
to the 10th and 8th, again. The last notes, again,
are with a pull-off; from 10 to 8, pull-off. Now, 7,
8 and 10 and the last notes are with a hammer-on.
Now, with my 1st finger I do the slide from the 6th
to the 7th fret on the 1st string.
And now well move to the 2nd string where well
play this from the 8th fret to the 9th fret with a
hammer-on. And this really outside note, its a
flat 9th there, really hard sounding. Its on the
1st string on the 6th fret. Now well go back to
the 2nd string. This is all on the 2nd string. This
is 9, 8, 6, 5 and now its a hammer-on from 6 to 8.
The last part is still on the 2nd string. Its
like a slide from the 4th to the 5th fret and
the last note is the root C note on the 5th fret
of the 3rd string. So all together.
So thank you very much. Thank you for watching.
