Wonderwall By Oasis

Wonderwall Verse Chords

The first thing that we’re going to do is to learn the first guitar chords of the verse for Wonderwall By Oasis, this song is going to be divided in three parts the first part is going to be the verse, the second is the pre-chorus and finally the chorus.

For the verse of Wonderwall we have this part that repeats, then for the pre-chorus we can have this part, and for the chorus we can have this. For the first part of the verse we’re going to start with an E minor guitar chord, I’m going to spice it up a little bit if you don’t know the E minor guitar chord it’s super easy just place your open 6th string and you place your index finger on the 2nd fret of the 5th string middle finger on the 2nd fret of the 4th string open 3rd, 2nd and 1st.

For this one what you’re going to do is check that shape right there, we’re going to place our ring finger on the 3rd fret of the second string and pinky finger on the 3rd fret of the 1st string. Now the key part about this is that we’re not going to move these two fingers they stay after that you’re going to grab the middle finger lift it up and bring it into the 6th string 3rd fret after that we keep these two fingers here and we go with our middle finger into the 2nd fret of the 3rd string and then bring down the index finger.

Now let’s not worry about the guitar rhythm, let’s just try to play this slowly just like you are counting 1, 2, 3, 4, and every time you go back to 1, you change guitar chords you say 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 2, 3, 4. Now once you have that you get that down you’re ready to play why don’t we focus the limit now on the guitar rhythm okay so now for the rhythm listen remove the chords completely and let’s just play with open string for now just learn the guitar rhythm so it’s actually very simple now for me the easiest way to learn this is to actually sing it okay it’s the easiest way to learn any rhythm in general so this will be like da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, and you could also tap in.

Wonderwall By Oasis Rhythm

Now for the guitar rhythm for Wonderwall By Oasis, what you’re going to grab your pick and go down, down, and it sounds like an open chord. Let’s go back down, down, up, down, up, down, so keep that in mind, now put the chord in there and practice it until you got it. Here’s the tricky part you got this rhythm down what you’re going to do is divide the rhythm into two guitar chords, the first two downs will be one chord and the rest is going to be another chord so what I mean by that I mean like you’re going to remember the rhythm down, down, down, up, down, so the first two times you play a chord down, down, then you change the next chord and go up, down, up, down, and you keep that pattern going so you got it so we could say that the first part of the rhythm. Part A is down, down and the Part B of the rhythm is up, down, up, down, down.

Now what you’re going to do is get the rhythm a super simple and that’s your basic song where you can play the first part of the verse super cool you’re like just hanging out with your friends, children, and you start playing the verse and that’s cool.

Pre Chorus

For the pre-chorus of Wonderwall by Oasis what we’re going to do is introduce a new guitar chord. Remember keeping these two fingers here with middle finger to the 3rd fret of the 5th string with our index finger to the 2nd fret of the 4th string, try to avoid playing six it’s not going to sound great. Break from the 5th if potentially if you can’t just put your finger there your thumb and cover the 5th. Now what you’re going to do is remember the first progression we had goal number one, and number two, number three. So what we’re going to do from this one you go to the D which is the 3rd chord before and then from there I gather from D going to the E minor which is the first one. So you go from a new chord which is a C to the D which is the 3rd chord before to the E minor which is the 1st guitar chord, so for this one check you’re going to split this into two but you could grab this and continue that pattern of up, down, up, down, down, and continue it in E minor or you could restart the rhythm, you could do whatever you want.

On the third time you’re going to go back to the E minor, this is like a different part in the pre-chorus and then you go into the G. Check this out there’s not going to be a rhythm, we’re just going to play the chords down. Then you’re going to do D F sharp so what you’re going to do is basically the same as the D but you’ll be playing with your index and put the index on the 2nd fret of the 6th string.

So from G back to the D, we’re going to end up in the A, so an easy way to see this is that you have the pre-chorus and you can write twice. Now the third time you know from C to D and then you go into this little part that is going down so you go down from G with sharp to E minor and then from here you can say goes to D which is the same as what we had at the beginning right so you go this little of going down part goes into F sharp minor super simple right so what I suggest is that you first figure out the rhythms and that you divide this in three different sections okay or in fact maybe in four sections you divide this into verse that’s your first section pre-chorus at your second section pre chorus third time that’s your third section okay which is the part that goes down under this and now chorus which is your fourth section and once you got all those down start playing with the guitar rhythm and you’re going to get this super easy and there you have it.
