Hey, how’s it going this is Claude Johnson with Guitar Control, I’m going to show you how to play “Baby I Love your Way” by Peter Frampton. This has a few interesting chords I think you’ve seen them before let’s just go over it real quick we’ve got a D slash F sharp, what that means is you take a D shape and put your thumb in the low E-string 2nd fret and I’m not going to even worry about the high E-string we just kind of muting it with my thumb, there’s also the D suspended 2 which is like another D shape but you lift off, we’ve got our D suspended 4 which is a D shape with the pinky added and I went over all these chords in the Collection 1 & 2.

So this is just a little bit of review let’s see there’s also an F 9 now this might be a new chord for you it’s like this F shape but then I’ve got my pinky up here, so I’ve got my ring finger on the 3rd fret of the D- string middle finger on the 2nd fret of the G-string, first finger on the 1st fret of the B-string and then the pinky is on the high E-string 3rd fret.

The strum patterns is going to be like 1 and ¾, so that’s the 1st beat you’re going to stretch out it into two instead of 1 & 2 & 1 & 3 4. One name 3 and 4 and then in between those strums,  let me show you what I mean one and three, four, one, two, three, four, one, and three, four, one, there’s your intro. So that’s G, D slash F sharp E minor another barre of E minor C, D minor 7, A minor 7 and D suspended 2.

Now you can also do this little nice little walk up in the last chord a minor 7 ABC, so your verse is going to be G D / f sharp again E minor. Here this is E minor but I’m just using D for one beat as a passing chord C two bars you see two bars of F 9 alright so just to give you the vocals to give you the feel of it shadows and even crossed page alright so that’s going to repeat again those eight chords then you’re going to go to B minor 7 for two bars C7 A minor 7, D suspended 4, 2d so those 8th bars I would call the pre-chorus then you’re going into the chorus so it’s G D a minor seven C and when you’re done playing the chorus you’re going to go back into the intro chords so it’s a great.
