The old saying goes, if you play bass guitar, you’ll always work. That’s because there are a lot of guitar players. Everybody wants to be the guitar player. The guitar player gets the girls, the bass player gets the work. Fortunately, the Internet doesn’t discriminate against bass players. It’s just as easy to find a bass guitar lesson online as it is to find a guitar lesson. Bass players, like guitar players, use scales and even play chords. Bass players don’t just play straight eighths either. Bass players like Billy Sheehan, Geddy Lee, and Jaco Pastorious, to name a few, have brought the bass out of the shadows of being just a rhythm instrument into the spotlight as a lead instrument. They have, in fact, made bass as cool as guitar.
