How to Play G Minor Pentatonic Guitar Lick https://guitarcontrol.com/gaby-soule/g-minor-pentatonic-lick/ https://guitarcontrol.com/gaby-soule/g-minor-pentatonic-lick/#comments Mon, 02 Feb 2015 21:03:04 +0000 https://guitarcontrol.wpmudev.host/blog/?p=11891

Hey, how’s it going this is Gabe Soule with Guitar Control, today I want to show this is a lick in the Key of G minor and I’m playing basically a Solo pentatonic and I’m playing some blue also.

pic

gm lick

Starting on the 3rd fret of the fifth string, I’m playing 3rd, 4th, and 5th fret of the 5th string. I’m playing those notes with a hammer-on, pick the 1st note then I’m going to the D-string and play the 3rd, 5th, and 3rd fret with a hammer-on 1st and pull off after, I can also play that without picking.

Take that note and take this one playing with a blue off, you can play both ways. Then going to the third string and playing the 3rd fret of the 3rd string then going back to the d string with the fifth and 3rd fret. Again, the 5th fret of the 1st string this, time we’ll play in the 5th, 6th, 5th and 3rd fret everything with the legato, so that be hammer-on 1st, from the 5th, to the 6th, and then all pull off from the 6th to the 5th and hammer-on and pull off again from the 5th to the 3rd.

Now, we go to the 5th fret of the D-string and make a very little bar with our third finger, from this 5th fret to the string below that one. Let’s see 1st string in playing, we’re playing G note and C note that would be a pull off on 1st string from 5th to the 3rd.

Last thing be on the 5th fret of the 4th string, then pull off from the 5th string to the 3rd and 3rd fret of the 3rd string and 5th fret of the 4th string. I hope you had a great time playing this, remember that you can get the tabs by checking the image above.

fm pent lick

Hey, how’s it going this is Gabby Soule with Guitar Control, today I want to show you this league made out with “F minor Pentatonic”. I’m having some blue notes here and the first thing that I’m doing is the kind of arpeggio from F, but instead of playing the 5th of the court I’m playing the 4th instead.

This is more on pentatonic arpeggio; I’m playing the first fret of the sixth string, and then hammer on the first and fourth fret that would be six. Next, I’m going to the fifth string playing the first fret with a smooth down stroke on the first fret of the fourth string.

That would be fretting the fourth string; and playing the same kind of arpeggio. Now I start from the C note on the fifth string, third fret of the fifth string, it would be fifth string on the third fret, then run on the sixth fret of the same string, and sleep on the third fret of the fourth and third of the third string then upstroke, the fifth fret of the third string, then I’m going back and down the scale like the tonic scale, but with some blue helps here.

Playing fifth, fourth, and third of the third string, then going to the fourth string on the third fret on the fourth fret. Now, I’m going to do the full string playing with the fourth and first finger, I’m doing this kind of fret, third fret fourth string on the third fret. I am playing this a flat on the fourth fret of the sixth string with a hammer on from the fourth to the sixth fret, and then from the third fret of the fifth string, I’m playing b-flat, I mean the sixth fret of the fifth string and all the scale in the third fret of the fourth string. I hope you’ll have a great time playing this.

Killer Pentatonic Lick in the Style of Paul Gilbert https://guitarcontrol.com/gaby-soule/killer-pentatonic-lick-in-the-style-of-paul-gilbert-lead-guitar-lesson-on-pentatonic-licks/ https://guitarcontrol.com/gaby-soule/killer-pentatonic-lick-in-the-style-of-paul-gilbert-lead-guitar-lesson-on-pentatonic-licks/#comments Sat, 25 Oct 2014 22:44:54 +0000 https://guitarcontrol.wpmudev.host/blog/?p=11292

Hey, how’s it going this is Gaby Soule with Guitar Control, I want to show you this lick in the style of Paul Gilbert. This lick is in the key of C sharp minor.

Killer Pentatonic Lick in the Style of Paul Gilbert -- Lead Guitar Lesson on Pentatonic Licks

I played here in the 4th fret and I include the Blue Note, this G is our ghost I started in the A-string 5th string with a pull off from the 7th to the 4th fret. Now in the low E in the 7th fret again in the A-string, this time from the 4th to the 7th fret with a hammer-on.

Now let’s go to the 4th string in the 4th fret again back to the 5th string and pull off from 7th to the 4th fret. So it’s time for the blue out here in the 4th string in the 5th fret, it’s a pull off from 5th to the 4th fret with our second first finger and now again in the 5th string 7th pull off to the 4th fret and now in the 5th in the low E 7th fret the last three notes are in the 4th fret of the A-string and now in the 7th and 4th fret of the low E.

So I played the whole sequence first low, let me play it one more time very slowly for you and remember that every time that you have two notes in one string in this particular league they’re always either hammer-on or pull off. There are really very few notes pick here, most of the lick here is hammer on and pull offs so it goes like this, that’s the whole lick it’s in the C sharp minor. Now you can play with a harmonic like pinch harmonic lick.

So I hope you liked it remember that you can get the taps of this link by clicking in the video description below and make sure to subscribe on our YouTube Channel and we’ll see you in our next video lessons, thanks for watching.

Killer C#m Pentatonic Lick in the Style of Paul Gilbert - Shred Guitar Lesson

Cool C#m Pentatonic Lick in the Style of Paul Gilbert - Lead Guitar Lesson

Hey, guys. How’s it going? This is Gaby Soule with
guitarcontrol.com and in this video I want to show
you this lick by Paul Gilbert. It’s in the key of
C#m and it’s all made out with the pentatonic scale.
So let me show it to you step by step.

It all starts here on the 9th fret of the low E string.
You have C#m pentatonic position, first position, there.
On the A string, let’s start with a pull-off from the
11th to 9th fret and now the low E on the 12th fret, back
to the 5th string. This times it’s a hammer-on from the
9th to the 11th fret. Now on the 4th string, the 9th fret,
and back to the 5th string. It’s, again, a pull-off from
the 11th to the 9th fret. Very slowly it’s

In this lick, every time you have two notes in
one string, they’re always either hammer-ons or
pull-offs. There are very few notes really picked
in this lick. Okay? And so 16th notes.

This pattern that I have just played, the only
thing you have to do is to keep on repeating that
every time you go to the next string. This time
we’ll do the same thing from the 4th string.

On the 4th string it’s a pull-off from the 11th
to 9th fret. Now in the A string, 11th fret. Now
back to the 4th string. This time it’s a hammer-on
from 9th fret to 11th. Now in the G string, the 9th
fret and back to the 4th string, a pull-off from the
11th to the 9th fret. So far it’s like this.

This time we’ll go to the 3rd string and it goes
like this. It’s, again, a pull-off from the 11th
fret to the 9th fret of the G string. Now on the
4th string it’s in the 11th fret, now again, to
the G string 9th fret to 11th fret with a hammer-on.
And in the 2nd string this time with your 1st finger
on the 9th fret and you end up, again, on the 1st
string with a pull-off from the 11th to the 9th fret.
So that part is like this. All together.

The last one goes from the 2nd string. It starts on
the 12th fret. It’s a pull-off from the 12th to the
9th fret. Now, 11th fret on the 3rd string. Again on
2nd string, this time it’s a hammer-on from the 9th
to the 12th fret; and on the 1st string, the high E,
the 9th fret and back to the 2nd string. It’s a
pull-off again from the 12th fret to the 9th fret.

You can also practice those every three strings; pick
one of those and just keep on repeating one of those.
They’re really very good exercises, too. You don’t
have to necessarily change from one string to the other
to make a good exercise out of it. You can just stay
there and it will work as a good exercise, too. If you
want to change, it sounds like this.

The last part is some kind of arpeggio made with two
notes per string and it’s actually a C#m arpeggio.
It’s like with string skipping there. It’s not
very difficult, but it sounds very good.

It’s a pull-off from the 12th to the 9th fret; now
from the 13th fret to the 9th fret of the 3rd string,
on the G string; now in the 4th string you play the
root or the arpeggio, 11th fret, C sharp. That was a
descending arpeggio. You play ascending. It’s again,
from that C sharp, you go back to the 3rd string. It’s
9 and 13 with a hammer-on, and, again, in the 1st string,
9th to 12th fret. It goes down, up and it goes down again.

So that’s the lick. I hope you liked it. Remember
that you can get the tabs by clicking in the video
description below. Thank you very much for
watching and I’ll see you next time. Bye bye.

Layla by Eric Clapton - Part 2

About Eric Clapton

Eric Clapton is an English guitarist, singer and song writer born in Ripley, Surrey England in 1945. Clapton first landed on the map in 1963 when he joined The Yard Birds replacing original guitarist Top Topham. In 1965 Clapton left the group to join John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers and played on one album before leaving the group in 1966 at which time he formed the iconic band Cream with Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce. After the fall of Cream Clapton went on to form the band Blind Faith with Ginger Baker and Steve Winwood. The band would only release one album and do one tour before disbanding. In 1970 Clapton started a very successful solo career with hits like his cover of the Bob Marley classic “I Shot The Sheriff”. During this time Clapton also performed with Derek and the Dominoes which produced one of his most famous songs “Layla”. In 1991 Clapton’s world would be shook by the death of his son. The tragedy sparked the inspiration for him to write the must know song “Tears in Heaven” which appeared on his “Unplugged Album”. Eric Clapton is considered to be one of the most influential and iconic guitarists of all time and was ranked number 2 on Rolling Stones list of the 100 greatest guitarists. He is the only person to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three separate times and has won 18 Grammy awards. Clapton has sold over 100 million records world wide making him one of the most successful musicians of all time.

How to Play the Intro from Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix - Part 2 - Easy Guitar Lesson
hey joe Hey, guys. How’s it going? This is Gaby Soule with guitarcontrol.com. Today I want to show you Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix. All together it’s Then you play an E chord, an E major chord there. You can also play it here on the 7th fret; just root and 5th chord, power chord there. Then, the next thing you’re going to do, you can do it in a different place. I think at least in two places. One is here on the 9th fret I will put my 1st finger. I play two strings at the same time, the low E on the 5th string and then I do a hammer-on on the 2 on those two strings at the same time. I go from the 9th fret to the 10th fret with my 2nd finger I do the hammer-on. I play it again. I do that twice. Then I do it on the 7th fret. I play low E on the 5th string on the 7th fret and I do a hammer-on with my 3rd finger on the 9th fret. So that is All together it would be 9, 10 twice and then again. If you listen to the record, to the studio version of the song, it doesn’t sound like.
